Having the potential for expanding the Rotary service activities around Karwar, 5 mentors from Rotary joined hands in the year 2019 to form a new club named as Rotary Club Karwar Paschim.
The club consists of majority of young members, who were specially mobilized to develop leadership qualities and initiatives among the younger generation of the area. This is evident from the young leadership commencing with the Charter President Rtn. Dharmesh J Tanna - age 29 years and Charter Secretary Pallavi D’souza - age 30 years, who have done trail blazing activities in the first year of the club’s functioning.
The club was sponsored by the Rotary Club Margao Midtown. The G.S.R was Rtn. Dr Lenny D’costa, with the issue of the club charter the club formally came into existence on 20 May 2019.
In the brief period of the club has carried out several programmes including eye camps, youth enrichment rallies, sports events such as walkathon, training of girl children in women centred hygiene issues, adopting of girl children for their advancement. Etc. The club has done pioneering work during the covid pandemic.
The club has been awarded governor’s special Award of Excellence on 10th April 2022
